Like the journey of a coffee bean that grows into life, Anak Kopi Gayo Foundation was born to support women and youth of Gayo in learning, creating, and shaping their future.
Our History
It began as a simple gathering for women and youth in the Gayo Highlands, a vision to unite coffee and art as tools of empowerment. In 2016, the Anak Kopi Gayo Community launched the very first coffee festival in Central Aceh and Bener Meriah, engaging small businesses, local artists, and poets from across the nation. From that seed, a stronger foundation has grown. In 2025, Anak Kopi Gayo Foundation (YAKG) was officially established, carrying forward the same spirit with a deeper mission: to empower women and young generations, using Gayo coffee as a catalyst for opportunities, connections, and meaningful change.
Our Programs
From Central Aceh, Bener Meriah, to Gayo Lues, we walk alongside women and the younger generation to empower them through programs that nurture knowledge, open access, and create opportunities, so every child of Gayo can bring change to themselves, their families, and their communities.
